Jane Ostenstad
Jane Ostenstad finds inspiration for her artistic designs in the beauty of nature, wildlife, colours, shapes and seasons. Her artistic practice has developed from traditional watercolour painting to her present day pursuit of hand painting on silk.
Once the silk has been prepared and the background colour developed, the fabric is stretched on a wooden frame in preparation for the hand-painted design. Each design comes from her deep appreciation of the beauty of her inspiration. The end result is a one-of-a-kind design in a wearable art format.
Jane is primarily self-taught through research, experimentation, and workshops.
