Vicki Allesia returns to the world of creating art after an eight year absence spent running the Port Moody Arts Centre as Executive Director. She works in watercolour and acrylic media and strives to create art that is appealing, fun and a little different. She was a founding member of the Blackberry Gift Shop with Nadia Graham.
Say Nuth Khaw Yum or Indian Arm Provincial Park, located at Port Moody’s northwest boundary, provides much of her inspiration as she kayaks from her cabin at the far end of Indian Arm, photographs her son’s wakeboarding exploits or simply floats around in an inner tube on a sunny summer day!
Vicki’s previous work has ranged from commissioned portraits of people and houses, to wall murals, to images of Port Moody with a strong feel for botanical and historical subjects. She studied fine arts at California State University at Long Beach and learned from many watercolour classes at various institutions. She is a member of the Port Moody Art Association and finds that the professional workshops and demonstrations available to PMAA members have also contributed to her variety of personal artistic styles.
A variety of Vicki's work can be found year round in the Blackberry Gift Shop, including her Port Moody Colouring Book. Find reference images from her colouring book in her Colouring Book image gallery.
