Margret Billingsemail: Margret Billings

I have been working with stained glass since the early eighties when this medium suddenly became very popular.  After attending a few workshops in copper foiling and lead caming I was captivated by this art form which inspired me to set up a small studio in my house. Working with glass is labor intensive  but it always challenges me to explore new ways for expressing my artistic ideas. I mainly use the copper foil technique because it allows me to design with easy flowing lines that more naturally suit my background in drawing. I find that the interaction of lines, color and texture with light is fascinating. A finished stained glass piece looks most beautiful and interesting in the ever-changing natural light.
